What is everyone else using for strech mark prevention?! Anyone tried the Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Stretch Oil? Should I just stick with my Palmers Cocoa butter?!

Stretch marks are my worst nightmare! I've been using Clarins toning body treatment. I'm only 4 months pregnant but am trying to be very cautious. If this doesn't work while I get bigger I'm going to try that Earth Mama Baby Angel. For some reason I don't want to use the palmers because if I can buy it any grocery store, than can it really be that good? I might be very wrong, but I will pay any price not to get stretch marks. One of my friends got a tummy tuck right after giving birth and she looks great! Unfortunately I can't afford all that...

During my pregnancy I've tried a few things to reduce my stretch marks. My mother swore by cocoa butter, so I tried palmers and along with a little excersize it worked to perfection. Now I suggest it to all my friends even the ones who aren't pregnant, lol......

Vaseline also works pretty well, and vitamin e oil.

I just ordered some body butter with vitamin e for stretch marks. Hopefully that will work.

I used Palmers cocoa butter with my first and it worked great, no stretchmarks. With my second I was on bed rest almost the whole time and in the hospital a lot, so I got a lot bigger and it didnt work this time. I think it works great if you dont gain too much weight, but there is a point at which nothing will work.

Greetings All,
I would like to say that some women are just going to be prone to stretch marks, with no way to prevent them. It is important to know your body type, for example do you already have stretch marks in other places? In general, the best you can do is try to keep your belly moisturized and keep your body hydrated.
I tried a variety of different natural products with my first child, all that included shea butter or cocoa butter with other ingredients. I used to use creams and oils and lotion, slathering my belly at least twice to three times a day. With my current pregnancy I just purchased Bella B products because I have seen good reviews. My goal is to keep my belly moisturized.
Note - be careful of the itching. That may be a sign of stretch marks to come.

This is very true. Itching is definitely a sign of stretch marks. I had some (very little) stretch marks before I had my child from losing and gaining weight, I guess that went away with exercise. My belly was beautiful after my first pregnancy ( sorry ladies, not to boast) . I'm working on my second but no signs of stretching as of yet!

I have to say I'm quite jealous of you, for not getting stretch marks. I wish my belly was beautiful afterwards!

But I have had great success with the Susan Browns Baby Line. They have a warming masque and a day and a night treatment. Palmers did nothing for me but this stuff has been awesome and now I have some hope!!!

I second the cocoa butter. I used that for mine and though it didn't prevent, it definitely reduced.

The best thing i like about it, is that it isn't sticky like butter but glides on like a gel cream to keep me moisturized all over body i have no sign of stretch marks at all. i have only had to use one bottle for my almost 9mts now, would love to share any more info if u need r even get u your own cream if u decide to try this.

Palmers has this TUmmy Butter that you should get - use that and good old almond oil to keep skin moist boy day and night. Many items are water based which dries up, but the Palmers Tummy Butter keeps you nice and gooey (LOL). The almond oil is good to put on first or keep in shower - if that is too pricey, buy baby oil to keep in shower and put that on last before you get out of shower. Keep skin moist & insides hydrated with lots of water - the other secret is the weight gain. Walk one hour a day - force yourself - keep weight gain to under 30-40 lbs - the less you gain the less chance you have.

I swear by Mama Mio tummy Rub. http://www.mamamio.com/us/finals/trbutter.html
It promotes elasticity rather than just moisturize the skin. I am 27 weeks and experience no itching and have not one single stretch mark. Best stuff on the planet and super natural.
The yummiest, purest, creamiest, melt in your skin butter we could possibly make. We loaded it with Omega 3, 6 and 9 to ensure your skin has the best fighting chance against stretch marks. One scoop and you'll know our Tummy Rub Butter deserves every award and accolade it has won. It smells gorgeous, makes you feel gorgeous and is a pleasure to use.
